Silver Championship format - 2024

The Format

The Championship is a three day event open to any NCVLGA member who has a handicap 20.4 or below.

It begins with an 18 hole medal competition with players receiving 95% of course handicap, which leads to the best 16 gross scores qualifying for the Championship matchplay knockout rounds. In addition, the next 8 best gross scores qualify for a 2nd Flight matchplay knockout.
This is a Moore Millenium Plate qualifying competition – see details below.

Following the matchplay stages there are trophies awarded to the Vets Champion golfer and to the runner-up with prizes for the losing semi-finalists. There is also a trophy for the winner of the 2nd Flight and a prize for the runner-up.

From this event, players with the best gross scores qualify to be selected for the NCVLGA Team to play in inter-county matches against the 5 other Northern Counties for the Richardson Trophy.

Entries open the day after the AGM in November and will close once the competition is full. The draw will be posted on the website at least a week before the event and a copy of the draw will be sent to all Vets Representatives who have competitors in the event.
