Our last two practice games of the winter programm

The winter practice matches have all been really useful in our preparation for our County Championships which start in a fortnights time and for our forthcoming Richardson Trophy matches.

A report from Captain Helen on our last two matches

On Sunday we travelled to Matfen Hall for a game against the County Ladies.
The course was playing very long and was a tough test and on the day the Reds came out with a resounding win.
Thanks go to County Captain, Helen, the County and to Matfen Hall for hosting us and a good day was had by all .

We moved on to the City of Newcastle on Tuesday for our annual match against their senior men.
It was a sunny day with a chill wind. We played Stableford match play but added an extra dimension to the game with a collective better ball points total with an additional point available.

The ladies won the match play section 3.5 to 2.5 but the men won the points total 229 to 227 gaining the extra point which resulted in a very fair halved match .

My thanks to both the City golf club and to the seniors section for their fabulous hospitality on the day and we look forward to playing there next year. A great way to end our winter season.
