Our two Bronze matches

Each year we play two County Bronze matches against Durham and Cumbria.

The matches are all in Better ball matchplay format off scratch and are always highly contested by all sides

Great halved match against Durham

The first match took place on 17th June and was played our Vice Captain Linda's home course of Blyth.

This was an excellent match but was looking to be a lost cause with the first 3 out of 6 matches going to Durham. However, our Northumberland girls won all the final matches resulting in a drawn match - 3-3.
Northumberland won the match last year so we retain the trophy for another year.

Not so fortunate at Ulverston

Last week the Bronze team headed to Ulverston in Cumbria for their second match on a very hot day and on a tricky course which favoured the home Cumbria ladies.

The match was eventually lost 4 matches to 2 but could so easily have also been a draw with the final match on the course going to the 18th hole.

Vice Captain, Linda and Captain of the Bronze team couldn't have been more proud of the way the girls played and bonded as a team. They were a real credit to Northumberland so - well done girls!
